The concept of the artglass Heart of Gold rose out of prototypes; put forward to honor works of love, service and understanding in the care giving sector of our society. The original heart submitted for approval was made using a cranberry color which is achieved by melting gold metal in the crystal. These hearts are formed totally by hand at 2000 degrees Farenheight using no molds. The 23K Italian gold leaf is then fused permanently on the surface. These handblown glasshearts were well received and requests for other colors soon followed. Hearts vary in size and shape slightly and are signed by the artist as works of art.
